CARIBBEAN GARDENS DISPLAY DAY -13th MARCH 2005

A hot and sunny day greeted us all as we gathered in the car park of the Notting Hill Pub. Naturally I had to arrive fashionably late. We then headed out in convoy to descend upon the Caribbean Gardens in Scoresby where Dave and Marita were waiting patiently for us. Once we sorted ourselves out Greg turned up then Jamie rolled in a little while later. In all the line-up was:

Lindsay XC GS

David XC Fairmont

Craig XC Fairmont

Trevor XB Falcon

Stuart XB GT

Paul XA Falcon

Jason XA GT

Greg XA Superbird

Jamie XA GT

Trevor unfortunately had to leave early but we had a few people ask to park their coupes with ours, naturally we obliged responding to their interest in our club.

We all had a great time although the heat started to get a bit tiring for everyone. The day was very successful in the promotion of the club, raising awareness and generating plenty of interest. Lots of cards were taken, we received plenty of enquiries and we handed out some application forms and newsletters.

Thanks to Lindsay and Paul for driving the BBQ, good job guys.

This is a very important run for the club in terms of exposure, promotion and presentation of the club in a positive light to an audience that mostly does not have an involvement with the car scene. It's good to have a big turnout whenever possible. It is also very family friendly with the markets, train rides, general activities and displays to cater for the whole family. Come along next year and make it bigger and better.

See ya on the road, Stu
