Hi everyone, if you were at Kiwanis All Ford Day you would have seen a terrific turn out of Fords from all parts of the globe. There were Anglia’s, Prefects, Cortina’s, Capri’s, Mustangs, Mercury’s, Customlines our own Falcons and the featured Marque was the Thunderbird.
We assembled at Shell Westgate at 7am and departed at 7.35, right into the back end of a traffic jam. When will the people at Vic Roads learn to program their road works so as not to inconvenience people? Once we got off the bridge, everything progressed smoothly. We stopped just out of Geelong to let some stragglers catch up and then proceeded to Deakin.

The entry was slightly smoother than normal as they are using a new pre pay system for the event.
The weather was reasonably kind with the exception of a persistent breeze causing the guys to deliberate as to which direction the club banner should face. Eventually all the canopies etc. were erected and everyone settled in for the day. Incidentally, our banner was the only one visible from a distance with the exception of the FPV & XR marquee.

The sun appeared around noon and things started to warm up. One of the interesting cars observed was a De Tomaso with a sizable Cleveland V8 sitting right behind the drivers’ seat. There was a “Bullitt” Mustang replica to be won, and several merchandise stands who would gladly relieve you of your hard earned given half a chance.
Well who won the trophies you ask? Our very own Howard Nessan in his XB Fairmont GS Hardtop came runner up "Best Falcon Coupe/Cobra/Landau XA-XC". Congratulations Howie.
There has been discussion that next year the official club run will be to the Hanging Rock event instead but once again stay tuned for an update.
Report by Roger Trezise - Club President.
