One day I was looking thru the Trading Post and i saw an ad "For Sale" for an XB Coupe.
I noticed that the ad said "fuel injected 6 cyl." So curiosity got the better of me, I took a drive to Pakenham. As it turned out, it was a GS Pepper Red coupe, that someone had removed the V8 and put an XE EFi motor in it. |

Anyway, I did the deal only because I liked the color. I took it back to the shop and told the boys, we got a project going on! Threw out the EFi, put a 351 cleveland in it, re-did the body work, as we were sanding down the panels, we noticed all these square chequered decals under the paint.
To our surpirse, this was a genuine McLeod that someone had abused over the years. |

We painted it back to its original format and looked up www.aus-ford-uk/html spoilers and found an article on the McLeod vehicles. |

So since the Hardtop Anniversary was coming up we fixed the car up, painted it to its color scheme of its time, replaced all the decals and got it ready for the hardtop anniversary in Echuca Victoria September 2007. We had a great time in Echuca. | ![]() |
John Goss & Murray Carter were there, John Goss saw the car and said he hadn't seen one in a very long time and Murray Carter said it bought back lots of memories for him also.
The car was very eye catching, we had a great time up there with it. After the event in Echuca, we came back to Melbourne and placed it up for sale for someone else to enjoy.
One of the mechanics who works at the dealership of McLeod Ford in N.S.W. bought the car and after talking to his employers the car was put proudly in the centre of the main showroom for display.
