It was another top weekend as always when the Old cars that we love race at the island. Shache & myself headed down on the Friday afternoon and we meet Murray & the lovely Joy at the track about 6.30pm to get the cars in nice & early. The City Ford was coming down in stile this time on the Saturday morning, on the Back of Sean Finn’s Tow Truck from Concours towing. We then spotted Dave R & Tas & Coster with the unveiling of the Bob Morris XE Falcon and I have to say Congrats to Tas as it has come up a treat!! There was plenty of action on the track with a few cars meeting with the wall which was a bit ugly and expensive. But no one got hurt which is what you like to hear. Then it was of to the RSL for dinner & drinks after all of the days activities.
Sunday morning came to early and to quick as it does. Tas, Coster, Schache & myself made our way to the track to meet the small team who drove up for the day Roger, Lindsay, Alan P and the 2 Dave’s with the weather holding out for a nice day not to hot and not raining. It was great to bump into a few familiar faces from other clubs and Murray & Carol Carter. It was a great weekend for us petrol heads and I will be booking it in for next year now! I Hope we get some good weather and a few more club cars down for the day next year. A big thank you Sean Finn for looking after my pride & joy, and the club committee for all of there top work in the club.
See Ya on the Road
