Picnic at Hanging Rock

This is now a fortnight away and coming around quickly. The meeting point is the BP Calder at 7am!!! Yep, it’s an early start all right but it’s necessary to get a decent spot. Be sure to set your alarms!!
We will do a slow drive through at Woodend to pick up some club members. We anticipate going through around 7:30am so for anyone else wanting to meet there make sure you are parked in the main drag around that time and just simply join the convoy as it rolls through.
It’ll be a great day out so hope to see a big turnout.

The Annual Picnic at Hanging Rock will be happening on Sunday 12th February 2012. This is a fantastic show with a huge variety of cars, bikes, trucks and other items of interest on display.
Gates for display cars open at 7:30am and cost is $20 pay at the gate.

There are no pre-booked sites or anything of that nature so if we all want to park together we have to arrive together.
We will meet at BP Calder, time TBA and will do a slow roll through Woodend if there is anyone looking to meet there. In the past we have departed BP Calder at 7:30am and reached Woodend around 8am however due to the popularity of this event and the number of cars going we may need an earlier departure time to get there when the gates open at 7:30am. Anecdotes suggest we’ll need to do this to get a decent spot.
It is well catered for with food outlets but the queues are usually pretty big so we recommend you bring food. A picnic maybe?? Bring deck chairs and the usual sun protection gear as well.
Please let me know who’s coming so we know who to expect on the day. If anyone wants to meet at Woodend let me know. If there’s no takers for Woodend we’ll bypass and go direct to the venue.
