It was typical hot weather at Winton where we convened for our annual track day. It was a good turnout with heaps of different stuff on the track showing us what they've got. A few of us ventured up on the Saturday arvo and enjoyed a great feed and a few drinks at the Royal in Benalla to prepare for the day ahead, the rest of us made a day trip of it.

When I arrived all I heard were tyres squealing. A Nissan Skyline (or was it a Silvia?) drift car was letting it all hang out. Rather entertaining. From a club perspective we had 5 cars and 6 drivers out on track with another 2 taking part in the lunchtime track cruise. We had an XC GS Coupe, an XB GS Sedan, a cruddy old XD (a popular choice for track cars among the club), a Landau and an FPV Cobra. The XC, XB and Cobra had trouble free runs but the Landau was burning up its rear brakes and the crudbox XD had some kind of engine drama late in the day.

Overall it was a successful club event and thanks go out to the Falcon Fairlane Club and the Ford Performance Club for their efforts in staging this event. A good time was had by all despite the heat!!
