18th September Update

Dear Members,

It’s on again, our annual track day at Winton Raceway. This will be held on Saturday 26th November 2011.

We are doing this event in conjunction with the Ford Performance Club. This was a fantastic day last year and will be again this time around.

Attached is a flyer and supplementary regulations which includes the entry form and track map. The whole thing kicks off at 8am with scrutineering and drivers briefings. For the first timers and the inexperienced there will be a track orienteering with an experienced driver in the passenger seat. You will be guided on the lines to take, things to watch for and general track etiquette. All cars will undergo scrutineering as per the flyer. It is YOUR responsibility to present your car in a condition acceptable to pass scrutineering as there will be NO refunds for any cars that fail. If anyone has any specific concerns please contact Stuart or Phil (details below).

At lunch time there will be a slow track cruise behind a pace car for the spectators to give them the opportunity of going on the track.

The price is PER CAR!! If the numbers are not there a nominal fee may be called up from the second driver of shared cars.

Regarding passengers, they must be age 16 or over. This however is still subject to change and there is a chance passengers may not be allowed.

This event is limited to 50 cars so get in quick. Send in entry forms and payment to: Ford Coupe Club, P.O. Box 6041, Vermont Sth, VIC, 3133.

You will need a CAMS or AASA license to participate in the track day. If you do not currently have a license or if it’s expired see link below for an application form:

This can also be done on the day but it’s easier to sort it out in advance.

If anyone has any enquiries please contact Stuart on 0414 582004 or Phil (Ford performance Club) 0417 361023.

To make this day a success we need volunteers to help with flag marshalling, cleanup crews, vehicle recovery etc. If anyone can help please let Stuart or Phil know. This will help them draw up rosters etc. Many hands make light work. This is a great day out, even to cruise and spectate. We get all kinds of cars there from old bashers to track thoroughbreds. Last year we were treated to having the ex John Goss Bathurst winning Jaguar there!!!

Hope to see a big turnout!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And to continue a big weekend the folks at All Makes Swap Meet are having an inaugural All Ford Display at the Seymour Showgrounds.

See below for flyer:

A group of us will drop in on the way home from Winton and others may make it a day trip from Melbourne. Should be a good turnout.

Mark your calendars folks!!

Cheers,

Dear Members,

Winton Track day will be held on Saturday the 26th of November this year.   Its a fun day out where you can experience a day on a race circuit.   We have never had a complaint of lack of track time!    Its also a safe track as its not as high speed as Sandown or Phillip Island and you get plenty of run off room.   You also get lots of cornering practice and can take a passenger.

More details to come so start preparing.

Cheers,
